Trilytics 2025, the flagship annual analytics and AI conclave of the PGDBA programme (jointly offered by IIM Calcutta, IIT Kharagpur, and ISI Kolkata), took place on August 9–10, 2025. The event brought together leading academics, industry leaders, and innovators to explore how analytics and AI are reshaping businesses and society.
L&T Finance was proud to be a part of this year’s edition, with our Chief AI & Data Officer, Dr. Debarag Banerjee, delivering a keynote session and our leaders participating in panel discussions that set the agenda for the future of AI in financial services.
Keynote: Lending with AI – L&T Finance’s Transformation Story
Dr. Banerjee’s keynote, “Lending with AI: L&T Finance Transformation Story”, struck a chord with the audience. He shared how L&T Finance is pioneering the use of AI and data science to make credit more accessible, inclusive, and impactful across India.

- Project Cyclops – leveraging machine learning, geospatial analytics, and alternate data to enable frictionless and inclusive credit underwriting.
- Return on Data Investment (RODI) – a framework for measuring the tangible business value of data assets.
- From Hype to Reality – breaking myths around AI cost, accuracy, and accessibility while showcasing how open-source innovation is driving adoption.
- Human-Centric Stories – examples of AI-enabled lending restoring not only financial stability but also dignity and hope for underserved communities, especially farmers.
Industry Panel: AI and ML in Industry 5.0
Day 2 of the conclave featured a high-energy panel on “AI and ML in Industry 5.0: Disruptions, Challenges, and the Road Ahead.” The discussion included our very own Dr. Kamlesh Kumar and Mr. Sandip Kumar from L&T Finance, alongside experts from academia and industry.
The session shed light on the real-world challenges of deploying AI at scale, opportunities in Industry 5.0, and how BFSI institutions like L&T Finance are driving innovation with responsibility.
Case Competition: Celebrating Future Leaders
One of the highlights of Trilytics 2025 was the case competition, where students tackled real-world business challenges with data-driven strategies. The winners are:
